about the studio
Our studio offers a warm and creative environment with encouragement and training to become a thinking musician that enjoys music for life. Developing the Musical Mind best describes the philosophy our studio teaches. We have 4 teachers, offering piano - classical and jazz, voice - classical, musicals, jazz, blues, songwriting, cello, guitar, bass guitar and bass. We also specialize in helping children and adults find their best learning style, and how to use this knowledge to create music. We work with children with autism, aspergers, ADD, ADHD, and others using a creative approach before getting into a piano method.
| Mission: |
This is what we believe:
**Music is a joy. Music lessons should be fun. They are a privilege, not a punishment or requirement. If we're not having fun, something is wrong.
**Music study isn't always going to be easy, but it always should be satisfying.
This is what we do:
**We emphasize initiative and self-direction and encourage exploration and creativity. **We encourage parental involvement and will communicate student progress monthly.
**We show all students respect, encouragement and affection.
**Our primary goal is to teach students how to learn. Teaching is matched to students* learning styles; therefore, teaching style, curriculum and approach are flexible, varied and individual.
